To be honest, I rarely find a MMO that I don't enjoy. Even notorious games like Runescape have never failed me. With that being said, I'm definitely not a picky gamer. Now, I would love to say that I enjoyed Grand Fantasia. But, surprisingly I can't.
WaGrand Fantasia seems to be, as many of you would probably expect, a typical grind-fest asian mmo. Well, don't change your assumptions for it is. The fact that the publishers failed to fix this during localization really "grinds my gears." But, to be completely honest, grinding never bothers me. Grand Fantasia's game play leaves much to be desired. One thing I really love to see in many of the new MMOs that are coming out is the unique game play systems. The sprite system is awesome, don't get me wrong. However, I really think the developers should have really focused on adding a little inovation to their game play. The typical click-and-kill systems that are in-place in many of these types of MMO's is simply mundane.
One of the first things that completely ruined my Grand Fantasia experince was the music and enviorments. The music is completly uninspired. The first music I heard reminded me of a not only real-life, but from another MMO. The enviorments seemed cramped and it felt like stuff was randomly thrown in by the developers in attempt to make it look good. As for the graphics, they are exceptional. That's just my opinion. I'm sure there are many die-hard fans of Grand Fantasia, and I respect your opinions. As for me, I'm not impressed.
